Under investigation for leaking investigative secrets, OCCRP reacts: Vlora Hyseni also headed a NATO commission in 2025

Vlora Hyseni, who was dismissed the day before from her position as head of the State Intelligence Service (SHISH) after being placed under investigation by the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, also headed a NATO Commission in 2025.

According to OCCRP, in 2025, she chaired NATO's Civilian Intelligence Committee.

Vlora Hyseni was suspended from her position as head of SHISH and was placed under house arrest as a person under investigation for two criminal offenses, disclosure of investigative secrets and support for the perpetrator of the crime.

Hyseni is suspected of having helped Ergys Agas, accused and arrested in August as the head of a structured criminal group in the AKSHI affair, escape with secret information.

Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted from the US, where he is at the UN, that Hyseni would be removed from office, while President Bajram Begaj approved the decree for her immediate dismissal from the leadership of the institution.

Hyseni has led SHISH since April 2023, after serving as deputy director of the AKI and later as Rama's advisor on national security.
