Death of 36-year-old who jumped from Allias building, father of his ex-partner arrested

Gerald Sefa, 36, ended his life the day before by jumping from the fifth floor of a building in the Allias area of Tirana. In connection with the incident, police have arrested Sajmir Demir, the father of his former partner, on charges of inducing suicide.
Two days before the incident, Demiri allegedly argued with the 36-year-old, demanding an account of the separation from his daughter.
According to investigations, the arguments and constant pressure on Sefa are suspected of pushing the young man towards the extreme act.
Initially, the police also investigated the murder plot, as a bloodstained knife was found in the apartment where the incident occurred.
But, according to sources, the expertise has revealed that the knife had Gerald Sefa's fingerprints. It is suspected that the 36-year-old initially attempted to cut his wrists and then jumped from a height.
The apartment where the incident occurred was owned by a relative of Sefa's, who had left it to the young man to live in.
Security cameras revealed that the 36-year-old entered the building alone.
