After two months of boycott, lawyers return to courts from Monday

The Chamber of Advocates has decided to end the lawyers' boycott, which has been going on for about two months in protest against the regulations of the Special Court (GJKKO).

The decision was made after the provisional measure issued by the Administrative Court of Appeal, which provides for the suspension of the boycott. Consequently, the lawyers will return to judicial activity starting on Monday.

The head of the Chamber of Advocates, Maks Haxhia, announced that the decision to end the boycott does not mean a withdrawal from their opposition to the GJKKO regulation. He emphasized that the battle will continue through legal means, through an appeal to the Administrative Court of Appeal.

Haxhia also criticized the way in which, according to him, institutional authority has been imposed to resolve the conflict, underlining that the Chamber of Advocates has requested that the issue be resolved through understanding and negotiations.

"Today, the decision of the Appeals Administration was made available to us and the provisional measure is that the boycott be suspended. Under these conditions, this decision-making body, we made the entire situation, our efforts to resolve this conflict and the Chamber of Advocates have been present since the first days, we have been and are for everything to be resolved through understanding and negotiations. The authority of the chair was used and it is not good that in such a small country it is followed by imposing the authority of the chair. Being faced with this reality, the General Council decided that in implementation of this decision, to terminate the boycott starting from Monday. Meanwhile, the Council also determined the working groups that will present the complaint through the legal channel for the progress", declared Haxhia.
