Albanian lawmakers will return to the Albanian Parliament on Tuesday afternoon. After the summer recess, majority and opposition MPs will resume work on the afternoon of September 8 at 5:00 PM.
In parallel, during these last days, protesters have warned that on Day 101 of the Great Protest, (Tuesday), the parliament will be surrounded by a large number of citizens. We recall that in the last two sessions of the last Diet, deputies from both political wings, under strong police protection, secretly entered and exited the session, from the reach of hundreds of protesters "armed" with eggs, flour and tomatoes.
Media sources indicate that the proceedings of this third session of the legislature are expected to open with new proposals from the Socialists regarding territorial reform. A hot topic that has accompanied this past summer, where the "disappearance" of small municipalities has brought about a series of protests across the country.
Although this new division has been argued by the socialists as a "good thing" that will be done to the community, the latter themselves have expressed their opposition, not wanting to become part of large municipalities.
