"Albania Mirror", or Rama's "magic" to sell the truth

By Indrit Gjizeli

In the famous fairy tale of Snow White, the witch has a mirror through which she checks that no one in that kingdom is more beautiful than her. Of course, the witch has the throne and does everything through violence and magic.

Rama, fixed as in the role of a witch, frightened by the strength of the citizens in the streets, found himself facing the mirror of truths even by many of those who had voted for him, rushed to invent a new mirror, where he invites the citizens to see him and his subordinates every Friday, precisely at 5:00 PM! Rama took this step as if the government had staged a coup, had put him on the streets, and he wants to return to the throne and punish the traitors of his party, who have punished him because he has exposed their dirty deeds, their thefts.

In every country in the world, the prime minister uses legal mechanisms to measure political legitimacy, uses the anti-corruption office, implements the findings of the Supreme State Audit, and especially does not use the votes of the Assembly to protect his former subordinates by humiliating the justice system, and with it anyone on his team who believed that he should lead based on the laws.

But does it make sense to listen to citizens every Friday about their complaints, if you have an important leader who has several files accusing her of corruption, violation of equality in tenders, and concealment of assets?!

Should they listen if they have seen how you handed over the state, the institutions and citizens' data, to a man like Agasi who uses the state for his personal interest, to rob?!

Rama's new vision is the latest attempt to make citizens listen and seek solutions from the same officials or MPs who have mocked them, taken their money, and humiliated them.

So, Rama clearly seeks to control the anger of the citizens, by showing them that in this empire he continues to be "the most beautiful", that is, the most righteous, who still continues to think about the state, but whose subordinates have betrayed him.

This belief that this time too, citizens will trust his mirror probably comes from the fact that he has a political opponent who will not even use a mirror like Rama's in his political path, as he does not even question that he is "the most beautiful of the opposition."

In the face of Rama's attempt to build a new tale of listening with the same people who have not listened for 13 years, it is important to protect the civic voice of protest that for three months has shown every Albanian citizen that life with half-truths or with a pronounced lack of accountability is the continuation of evil./Alfapress.al
