SPAK takes Eugert Sinon to trial, accused of being the leader of a criminal group for arms trafficking

SPAK has completed the investigations and has sent to the Special Court of First Instance the request for the trial of Eugert Sinos, accused of several criminal offenses related to the illegal possession of weapons and combat ammunition, as well as leading a structured criminal group.

According to SPAK, investigations have revealed that Eugert Sino, in collaboration with several other individuals, has obtained a significant amount of firearms and combat ammunition.

The investigation revealed that 5 long/sniper weapons, 6 automatic weapons, 12 pistols, 17 additional rifles, 4 gun barrels and 7,820 combat cartridges of various calibers were seized.

According to the expert reports, the seized firearms and ammunition were found to be in good technical condition and capable of firing.

At the end of the investigations, SPAK concluded that Eugert Sino had the role of the leader and financier of this illegal criminal activity.

How was Eugert Sino arrested? The van with the inscription "Road Maintenance" revealed the arsenal of weapons

Eugert Sino was arrested on October 29, 2025, during a State Police operation codenamed "The Van", after the discovery of a large arsenal of firearms inside a van on "Myslym Shyri" Street, in Tirana.

According to media reports, the van had been parked in the area for about a month and had the inscription “Road Maintenance”, creating the impression that it was used for maintenance services. Suspicions about the vehicle increased when it was found to be obstructing road traffic, which led to its inspection by police officers.

During the search, a significant amount of weapons and ammunition was discovered inside the van.

Due to the nature of the discovery, criminal investigation structures also intervened at the scene, which continued investigative actions to identify the persons involved in this activity.

The charges against Eugert Sinos

Sino is accused of illegal possession and production of weapons, explosives and ammunition, including their possession in vehicles, in public places and in large quantities. According to SPAK, these acts were committed in collaboration, in the form of a structured criminal group.
