Enkelejd Alibeaj: We do not support Florian Binaj. DP, in total inability to

The Albanian opposition has united around the candidacy of comedian Florian Binaj for the Tirana Municipality, but it seems that not all groups are of the same mind. The "Right 1912" movement has refused to support Binaj's name, describing him as unsuitable for independent representation.

In an interview for the show "Topic of the Day" with Arbër Hitaj on RTSH, Enkelejd Alibeaj harshly criticized both Binaj's candidacy and that of Ogerta Manastirliu from the majority. According to him, both candidates are part of a political game controlled by their respective leaders.

"Neither Rama nor Berisha. Both Rama's candidate, Manastirliu, and Berisha's Binaj, I'm not saying puppets, but they are not candidates who bring out their own independent identity. They are simply in a big game between Rama and Berisha, so in this case this is clear ," he said.

For Alibeaj, Binaj is not an independent candidate, but chosen by the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha. He considers the opposition's unity around Binaj as "hypocrisy."

" The DP is completely incapable of having its own political candidate. Incapable, surrendered. It sold the elections to Rama. It is a controlled opposition. This is not unity around a candidacy, but around the fear of facing the majority. Fear because the eventual result, they apparently sense, would be considered a blow to their positions. Unity over fear leads to a unity of hypocrisy. It is Berisha's candidate, he pointed his finger at him and said 'you want to be his candidate '", he stressed.

The Constitutional Court has suspended President Bajram Begaj's decree to hold partial local elections for mayor in the Municipality of Tirana on November 9. This decision came after the request filed by Erion Veliaj, who requested the annulment of both the Council of Ministers' Decision on his dismissal and the presidential decree setting the date of the elections.

Following the Constitutional Court's decision, the CEC announced the suspension of preparations for the electoral process in the capital's municipality, while clarifying that this process will continue normally in the other 5 municipalities in the country.
