Ervin Salianji comes out openly: I have ambitions to replace Berisha, but I'm waiting...

Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji does not rule out the possibility of one day running for leader of the largest opposition force, but probably not next year.

Invited to Top News, Salianji said that he has ambitions to compete, but according to him, now is not the right time.

"I am convinced that the Democratic Party will be a party that makes rotation possible in Albania."

There are no elections now in the DP, there is a discussion about the farce or how the DP can be strengthened and at this moment I am doing that, the opposition battle, the discussions with the people.

"With people who love the opposition as an instrument to change society, not just for personal ambitions. Everyone who is in politics has ambitions, I can't say, but this is not the moment ," said Salianji.

He said that the opposition's main strategy should be massive street protests as a way to paralyze the government's mechanisms to steal the elections.

"There must be massive protests, on the streets. Massive protests are needed to paralyze the government's activities in order to reach concrete solutions. At this moment when the OSCE-ODIHR report has been released, all of this must be digested," he said.
