Offered 50 thousand euros to go home, GJKO leaves Ilir Metēn in prison

The Criminal Court has rejected the request of the president of the PL, Ilir Meta, to leave the cell.

Meta requested the replacement of the measure against a financial guarantee of 50 thousand euros.

The PL president was not present at the hearing, but was represented by defense attorney Kujtim Cakrani. The latter said he will appeal the GJKKO decision.

Ilir Meta has been in prison since October 21, 2024, while he faces several charges from SPAK such as abuse of office, corruption, concealment of assets and money laundering.
