The meeting of the National Council of the Democratic Party has ended after about two hours.
During the meeting, in addition to the speech by party leader Sali Berisha, there were also closed-door discussions among the Democrats.
The main topic of discussion was the national protest called for December 22, but there were also discussions about a proposed change by Lisandër Hoxha to the party statute to remove exponents associated with the Soros foundation from the DP.
The meeting was not without tensions, which were noted when member Dritan Burgia demonstratively left the hall.
Burgia's departure came after discussions at this high-level DP forum were banned, allowing only debates on the protests. According to sources, Burgia opposed this decision, stating: "We come to speak at the forums, you say we are not allowed to talk about anything but the protest."
