At the ceremony organized by the Municipality of Tirana on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the declaration of Tirana as the Capital of Albania, Prime Minister Edi Rama took Erion Veliaj under his protection.
Rama : The contract with Veliaj was terminated by someone I don't know. I can't say whether Erjoni is innocent or guilty, but the presumption of innocence for an elected official is an obligation.
"What happened yesterday crossed every limit. We have an investigation into a person, not an accusation of corruption. A person's life has been investigated as a result of a novel dozens of pages anonymously filed in February of last year.... For me, this is not normal," said Rama.
Rama said that he is a witness in this process.
