The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted for the first time after the statement of Democratic MP Dashnor Sula, who said that he has been excluded from the DP lists for the May 11 elections.
"This list had these possibilities. He was not excluded from the open list. He has his own merits. I have not spoken to Mr. Sula. I have thousands of messages on my phone, I do not rule out the possibility that he wrote to me. But what I can say is that he is a respected man," said Berisha.
He added that the most voted in the primaries are on safe lists and that final decisions on candidates could still change.
"The primaries are a fundamental criterion. There were also merits for the diaspora. The most voted candidates are on the safe list. It is not up to me to say who was approved or not," he said.
In the end, Berisha hinted that his focus is more on the future of governance than on candidate lists: “I am thinking about the government after May 12.”
