Në një rast tjetër, para një viti, kur shumë qytetarë të Kukësit u helmuan me të vjella dhe bark nga ndotja e ujit Gjici doli në media për të qetësuar banorët, por bëri efektin e kundërt. Ai tha se uji ishte në rRegull vetëm se nga një ndërhyrje e paligjshme ishte përzier pak, uji i rjedhshëm me atë të vaditjes.
Emri i tij u përfol shumë edhe në skandalin Mc Gonigal. Në një foto të bërë nga vizitat e shumta të Charles McGonigal në Shqipëri është edhe një me Safet Gjicin, kryebashkiakun socialist të Kukësit. Ata shfaqen duke darkuar me verë, në një restorant ndërsa shoqërohen nga Agron Neza, “personi A” në dosjen e ish-zyrtarit të arrestuar të FBI-së.
Tani se fundi, ai u bë viktimë e një komploti hakmarrjeje provinciale nga dikush që e filmoi duke palluar në zyrë. Po të shohësh videon rezulton se dikush ka qenë duke e përgjuar dhe me siguri ky i fundit i ka shpërndarë edhe pamjet që do të rezultonin fatale për kryebashkiakun e sapo zgjedhur. Ai gjendej në prag të shkarkimit nga Rama por preferoi më parë të dorëhiqet./Lapsi.al
