Marinela Ziu, candidate of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition in the Korça district, says that the fight against corruption will be her challenge and that of the political force she represents. Ziu told MCN Informacion studio that corruption is the reason why Albania is still the poorest country in Europe.
"I have completed my law studies. I am an expert on anti-corruption issues. I have grown up in the DP since I was a child. I was the head of the anti-corruption office in the DP. I am the person who first investigated the affair of the century, that of the incinerators. I was a legal advisor in the DP.
I strongly believe that one of the main reasons why Albania is here is corruption. The SAI has its own mechanisms, but not all violations and abuses can be caught. We are the poorest country in Europe and the region and the reason is corruption. We have a clear plan in the field of anti-corruption.
"I think that MPs should not have immunity. We have seen cases like Mr. Ahmetaj's."
