Bastoni: I fought to leave Inter, Conte told me to stay

Does a change of environment (club) scare a footballer? A difficult question for a footballer, especially when it comes to his first experiences, but Alessandro Bastoni has revealed on the " Supernova" podcast that it has not been like that for him, after 11 years at Atalanta:
"I made a move from Atalanta to Parma, it wasn't a big step and I didn't have any expectations to fulfill, because I was just a kid who had to prove myself. D'Aversa gave me a lot of confidence, I played well and I earned the call-up from Inter. I fought to leave the Blues, because there were Godin and Skriniar in my role. Coach Conte told me to stay and I managed to impose myself."
He is now considered one of the best in the world in his role, but how has defending changed: " Thanks to the coaches I had, I believe I was one of the first to attack so much. Having friends like Mkhitaryan, who cover my penetrations, helps a lot."
"Toloi did something similar at Atalanta, but with all these role changes and mobility, I think I'm the first to interpret this role like that. My characteristics help; I like to have the ball, while in defense you don't have it very often. It comes naturally to me, because I have a coach and teammates who understand what I do, while in the national team it's not so easy."
