The protest "stripped" Rama of his illusions, now he must do what he hates: Give an account!
By Indrit Gjizeli
Edi Rama has been justifying himself, explaining, and justifying his actions for over a month. He has not noticed that he is contradictory in every statement because he has never thought that he can be held accountable, even in his podcasts, in shows in front of the socialists, the parliamentary group, and even less so to the media. After ignoring the opposition in the Assembly for 13 years, after rejecting the absolute majority of interpellations requested by the opposition, Rama has finally entered the tunnel of explanations and justifications, thus showing that he has not been able to apply transparency alone throughout his time as prime minister. (It is enough to remember that he held a hearing with the residents of Zvërnec only a few days after the protests began, showing that only the residents had not been heard).
Meanwhile, as he tries to take certain parts of speeches from the speakers at the protest, Rama has embarked on the path of accountability and this is worrying and irritating him, as he has never come out to respond to journalists and citizens about what concerns citizens, but only to recite projects that seem good and legal on paper.
And as if for this accountability process that has caused the prime minister, the protest should be supported by every citizen who has even a little self-respect, because every citizen, his voter or not, should hear from the prime minister what has happened with his promises, with taxes, with school, the current demographics, and with the possibility of Albanians returning to their homes, close to their parents, so that we can avoid a devastating depopulation.
But it should be clearer to anyone who understands that the police force has surpassed the strongmen near Rama, and that one Ergys Agas' has distributed more tenders than the entire Government, showing that for Rama the state is not important at all, but only power. And this is the same man who in 2013 promised that he would give up power to build a state, while the way he has determined who is a businessman, who wins and who loses, has only created power at the expense of the state.
Anyone who had even the slightest illusion that Rama would be modest towards the citizens, just need to see his agreement to be treated like a king, to understand that Rama has no connection to what the citizens want.
Precisely for this fact, the protest should be supported, as it has brought down the lying Rama, a Rama who has brought down himself every day he speaks, as he only confirms what he has said differently and done differently.
Rama has also fallen before the international community. In Ankara, he was pointed out as ridiculous by the head of NATO himself, while he has been wearing sneakers for a long time at such meetings. In the world media, he appears as a man who only seeks enemies, but does not know how to give the answers that citizens need.
Rama has also fallen because anyone who debates with him shows that they no longer take him seriously, undermining the only power he has invested in - propaganda. That is why he is worried, because even those who used to happily share his posts have now closed their social media accounts or are silent.
Meanwhile, this freedom of protest has also thwarted attempts to kidnap him. Rama's only hope remains either violence or Berisha's even stronger protest. But this model, along with those who have attempted to disrupt or intimidate him, have simply made the protest even more popular.
Rama has fallen, along with the kidnappers. The hope that Berisha can keep him with his devilish insistence on making his own protest has also fallen, although every democrat has the legitimate right to be in protest, like every citizen who demands Rama's removal. In fact, most of the democrats in the protest seem to have started to sing at full volume "Rama prison, Berisha prison", the indictment is now clear that without Berisha at the head of the DP, Rama would have difficulty in any kind of survival. /Alfapress.al
