Russia and Iran after the protests? NATO diplomats warn Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama's claims that anti-government protests in Albania are being instigated by Russia and Iran have also raised questions in the international arena.
In an article published by Politico , which addresses NATO's concern about the increase in hybrid interventions and Russian disinformation campaigns in the Balkans, the alliance's diplomats' warnings regarding how the Albanian government could use this issue are also revealed.
According to Politico, three NATO diplomats, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the allies would be open to considering sending a team of experts to Albania to help counter hybrid threats. However, they warned that Albania should not exploit the situation for domestic political reasons.
“Sending a team would normally require consensus among NATO members. Three NATO diplomats, who were granted anonymity to speak freely, said the allies would be open to considering the possibility. But they warned that Albania should not use any response for domestic political reasons,” Politico writes.
Also, according to the article, Rama's claims are questioned by communications expert Blerjana Bino, co-founder of the research organization SCiDEV.
She points out that, while Albania has documented Russian-linked social media campaigns on other issues, there is no evidence to support the claim that Moscow or Tehran are behind the protest movement.
"We see this attempt by the government as a way to delegitimize the legitimate public complaints of citizens," Bino was quoted as saying.
