Parashqevi Simaku is declared an 'Honorary Citizen' in Kavaja, the singer: A heavy stone in its place!

"It's been almost a year since I heard Fisnik Qosjan, such a good guy who took Ilirjan and asked him what he could do for Parashqevië. It has remained in my soul all these years that I have recovered from all these events that happened, I want to thank him for this honor he has done me today.

You can take Parashqevië out of Kavaja but not Kavaja out of me. It is my birthplace, the heavy stone in its own place. I am still a Kavajase even though I have sung everywhere, even in the snow. The human spirit never changes. Wherever I go, I represent Kavaja with that simplicity, pleasure and honesty that Albanian folk song has given me. I would be grateful to Kavaja for raising me. If I were there, it would be much better,"  the singer said.
