"Boycott the World Cup", the sensational statement of the former FIFA president

Recent events in the US have severely compromised security in this country. In these conditions, there are increasing voices asking fans not to attend the World Cup closely.
The 89-year-old cited Mark Pieth, an anti-corruption expert and law professor who chaired the Independent Governance Committee to oversee FIFA's reform process from 2013 to 2016.
In a recent interview with the Swiss newspaper Der Bund, Pieth said that international aggression and President Donald Trump's violations within the US make it too dangerous for fans to travel abroad.
Blatter quoted Pieth in a post on X, writing: "I think Mark Pieth is right to question this World Cup."
"For the fans, there's only one piece of advice: stay away from the USA!" I think Mark Pieth is right to question this World Cup. #MarkPieth #GianniInfantino #DonaldTrump #FIFAWorldCup2026 #USA
