Orges Shehi close to returning to the top of Tirana

Movement on the Tirana bench. The derby defeat has increased the pressure on the white and blue leaders, who are seriously considering the return of Orges Shehi to the team. The coach who declared Tirana champions a few years ago is seen as the main candidate to take charge of the team at a delicate moment of the season.

There is no more room for tolerance at the club and apart from a victory, any other result in the coming weeks could put the future of current coach, Ardian Nuhiu, in question.

Shehi knows the white-and-blue environment well and remains a figure appreciated by both the management and the fans.

In the 2021–2022 season, he managed to declare Tirana the champion of Albania, while a year later he also won the Albanian Cup, leaving his mark on the club's successes in recent years.

In addition to the trophies, the 46-year-old also remains the longest-serving coach in the team's recent history, with nearly three years on the bench.

The current season, meanwhile, is proving difficult for the capital's team. Tirana has been close to the relegation zone for weeks and the club's only objective is survival in the Albanian football elite.

The white-and-blue team currently has 21 points and holds eighth place, just one point more than Flamurtari and Bylis, who close the standings.
