"Will I meet the American ambassador in Tirana after the visit to the USA?", Berisha is stuck: Am I American or Albanian?!
2026-09-12 19:10:00 / POLITIKË
After arriving from the US in Rinas, the leader of the DP, after speaking enthusiastically about the visit and the meetings, had another direct question. The journalists asked him, after he went to the US, whether the US will come to the DP headquarters and whether he himself has a meeting on the agenda with the new US ambassador, Eric Wendt, who is coming to Tirana soon. Berisha "sharply" dodged this question, saying that he is not an American but an Albanian.
Journalist: There is also a high interest, you went to the USA, the USA will come to the DP headquarters, when after a long time the US ambassador comes to Tirana?
Sali Berisha: Am I American or Albanian? Now I speak for myself./Alfapress.al
