Following the arrest the day before of controversial businessman Ergys Agasi, who had been wanted by SPAK since December last year as part of the investigation into the AKSHI tender dossier, investigators have continued to conduct checks and actions on his assets.
Media sources recently reported that BKH officers have also seized this morning a luxury vehicle, a Land Rover Defender, one of the luxury models of the British manufacturer, with an estimated value of around 100 thousand euros. The vehicle was found parked in the garage of one of the villas of the Equos Resort complex.
The seizure of the vehicle comes a day after the arrest of Agas, which ended an escape that lasted about eight months. The businessman was located and arrested on the afternoon of August 26 in the Plepave area of Durres, in an operation conducted by the Durres Police in cooperation with SPAK structures.
According to information previously released, Agasi was initially spotted in Elbasan, while traveling in a luxury vehicle. The vehicle was kept under surveillance and followed for about 40 kilometers on the Elbasan-Peqin-Rrogozhinë-Durrës axis, until the moment when the police forces intervened in the Plepave area.
At the time of the arrest, Agasi was in an "Audi", while the former Elbasan Police officer, Uljan Shpataraku, was also driving the vehicle, and he was also wanted by the justice system for "threatening" a waiter in the Dhërmi area.
The footage of Agas' arrest has also drawn attention for the luxurious details that accompanied him. At the moment when the officers surrounded the vehicle and handcuffed him, the businessman appeared in sporty clothes, while holding a watch in his hand that resembles a "Richard Mille", one of the most exclusive and expensive watch brands in the world.
Depending on the model, watches from this brand can cost hundreds of thousands of euros, and the watch that Agassi was wearing was worth around $550,000.
Agasi is suspected by SPAK of being part of a scheme related to the public procurement procedures of the National Agency for Public Procurement. According to the investigations, companies that have won tenders in this institution have made payments to the company "EA Solution", owned by Agasi.
