Journalist Artan Hoxha stated today that Emiljano Shullazi, who will be questioned about the Rinas assassination that killed Gilmando Dani and Mustafa Shaljani (Sheqeri), knows who the organizers are but will not cooperate with the state.
According to Hoxha, Shullazi will not provide information that could really help the investigation, as the balance has shifted to the other side and the possibilities to react are minimal.
According to Hoxha, Shullazi's strategy is 'do it well, do it yourself'.
"Of course, it is an action that causes a stir on the part of investigators because of what Shullazi represents. Of course, he is the man who perhaps suffered the most from Dan's murder, he lost his closest person. Of course, as far as I have learned, immediately after the event and for several weeks he was isolated inside because of the loss he suffered, the fact that until now it has not been possible to reach the executors and the orderers.
The public was deceived by spin doctors who supposedly found it, went to the villager who found some weapons and said that a car had been driven there and closed the story, but in fact it is quite the opposite. This is not one of those events that is easily discovered. The authors must have made a mistake or one of them must have become an accomplice, since we have only seen the visual part, but we do not know what happened behind the scenes.
The investigation team has found it reasonable and necessary to question Shullazi about this event, even though he has been in prison for a long time, and even spent two years in the 41-bis regime. He has been arrested for 10 years. Imagine how much the criminal situation in Albania has changed in these ten years, where the situation has turned against him.
The hope for balancing the forces on the ground could have been Gilmando Dani, but apparently his frequent movements, his stay in Dubai and then in European countries, alarmed the opponents and they decided to eliminate a permanent danger that could cause them big problems. They got ahead of the curve, took their time and acted before Gilmando Dani could act.
Today we are faced with the fact that Shullazi has been in prison for 10 years, he has not been able to get any information from prison, or are investigators trying to do through him what they have not been able to do for the last ten years. But Shullazi is not one of those who easily cooperates with the state. He certainly knows something, but it is not in his style, as he is with the old motto of the criminal world: do it well, do it yourself.
It would be important if he even gave the direction from where the attack came or who are interested in carrying out an assassination like Rinas's. However, this is at first glance a procedure, assuming that he is aware of the circumstances of the event, the conflict and who is hiding behind it. Not that he has not found out who the organizers are, but unfortunately for him, in this situation the balance has shifted to the other side and the possibilities to react are minimal.
We are in an evolving world. Once he was the king of Tirana or Albania, today he is someone else. Those who are today can be replaced tomorrow, either by the intervention of the authorities or by some possible clash. It is not in Shullazi's style to give information. He has been hit hard by justice. The Shullazi group had a decade of prosperity, then the 'top list' changed and we are in this situation.
I don't believe that in his current state he will testify, as he knows very well how small the steps of those who are investigating the case are. He is seeing that his opponents have not been hit for a long time, there are minimal blows to their image. Knowing this, he knows very well that everything he says will reach the ears of his opponents and he doesn't like that.
He has played with a kind of stature and order, not entering into intrigues to strike in collaboration with the state. He has not used the state to strike opponents, only in his own interests, while his opponents have struck him. Perhaps there may have been a self-confidence that his era would last, but if we look at it, his connections and alliances have been damaged and struck.
"Ervis Martinaj was executed, his connections in Durrës are being tried, even the American embassy was involved in the fight against him. Therefore, the request to Shullazi to testify is news, but I do not have much hope that he will cooperate with the authorities, as I know the power of the opponents and I know that, as long as they are not hit, they have control over the law enforcement agencies," Hoxha told Euronews.
