Ajola Xoxa arrives at SPAK, implements the 'compulsory appearance' measure

Erion Veliaj's wife, Ajola Xoxa, has arrived at the Special Prosecution Office. Xoxa is implementing the "compulsory appearance" security measure imposed by the Special Anti-Corruption Structure.

The wife of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, Ajola Xoxa, was informed of a new charge by the Special Prosecution Office, during her appearance on May 5 before prosecutors.

The new charge that has been communicated to her is related to concealing income, while she continues to be under investigation for a number of other criminal offenses, including passive corruption of high-ranking officials or local elected officials, committed in collaboration in some cases, laundering of the proceeds of crime, and failure to declare or falsely declare private assets and interests.

The investigation against her is part of an expanded file related to suspected criminal activity and violations of the law on the transparency of assets of public officials.
