The "Drug Lord", Gëzim Çela, is arrested in Kosovo

Gëzim Çela, declared wanted by SPAK, has been arrested in Kosovo following the operation executed in August, codenamed "Flame at Sea", where an attempt to smuggle drugs by sailing boat from the Patok valley towards Italy was foiled, on specifically, it is suspected that cannabis would be exchanged for cocaine in the middle of the sea.

Gëzim Çela is otherwise known by the nickname "Drug Baron", as since 2015 he has been declared an international wanted man following a decision given by the Court of Serious Crimes.

During the investigation of that period, Çelen appears as the organizer and financier of a criminal group, which trafficked heroin and hashish in Kosovo, Greece and Italy.

Çela was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Court of Serious Crimes, but since 2015, the police have not been able to locate and arrest him, although there was enough information that he is free in the area of ​​the Patok lagoon.

Çela continued his activity undisturbed. While the group where he was convicted for the first time, consisted of Valentina Tufina, known as "Aunt of Cocaine", Fran Mërdhoci, Alfred Mikeli, Arif Çela, Viktor Lekgega, Reald Hysolli, etc.
