625 cannabis plants destroyed in Shkodra district, 3 people under investigation

SHKODRA -  625 cannabis plants have been destroyed in the Shkodra district as part of the police operation codenamed "Coordination", to prevent, identify and crack down on attempts to cultivate narcotic plants.

The announcement states that as a result, 2 village heads and 1 forestry specialist were criminally prosecuted for failure to report a crime and abuse of office.

The police also say that work continues to identify, capture, and bring to justice the perpetrators of the cultivation of these narcotic plants. 

As a result of intensive controls throughout the territory of the Shkodra district, the services of the Shkodra Local Police Directorate and the police stations under its jurisdiction found and destroyed 625 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa plants.

 Two village heads and one forestry specialist are being prosecuted for failure to report a crime and abuse of office.

The services of the Shkodra Police Commissariat, following the police operation codenamed "Coordinates", during checks of the territory, based on police intelligence, found and destroyed 188 cannabis sativa narcotic plants in the territory of the administrative units of Postribë and Rrethina.

Following the actions in these two cases, proceedings were initiated in a state of freedom, for abuse of office and failure to report a crime, against the headman of the village of Drisht, citizen VD, the headman of the village of Kir, citizen SH, and the Forest Inspector, citizen AM.

Meanwhile, the services of the Malësi e Madhe Police Commissariat during the checks found and destroyed 142 cannabis plants in the territory of the administrative units of Gruemirë and Kastrat;

While the services of the Vau i Dejës Police Commissariat during the checks found and destroyed 295 cannabis plants in the territory of the Shllak administrative unit;

Work continues to identify, capture and bring to justice the perpetrators of the cultivation of these narcotic plants.  The anti-cannabis operation, codenamed "Coordinates", continues.
