Police officers are deployed in several areas of Tirana, over 1,400 police

Over 1,400 police forces are engaged this Sunday for the smooth running of the protest called today by the opposition at 6:00 PM.

Since the opposition protest will not have a podium but a march, the police, in order to be prepared for any possible situation, have deployed police officers not only at the Prime Minister's Office, but also at Parliament and other institutions.

Groups of police officers will also be deployed in several areas of the capital.

The Commanding Director of the Police, Sokol Bizhga, held a meeting with his subordinates where he gave instructions regarding the protest, where the main task is to guarantee the safety of citizens and maintain peace by avoiding provocations if there are any from the protesters.

Meanwhile, several central streets will be blocked to vehicles. "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard will be closed from 09:30 until the end of the rally.

From 3:00 PM, there will also be traffic jams on "Free Ukraine", "Papa John Paul II" and "Ismail Qemali" streets. The police have planned alternative routes to ease traffic.

The officers also appeal to citizens to avoid clashes and distance themselves from actions that violate public order. The police ask that citizens show understanding for the restrictions.
