The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has called on citizens to take to the streets for the protest, which is expected to start at 6:00 PM in front of the Prime Minister's Office.

While congratulating believers on the holiday of Sultan Novruz, Berisha said that today is "a great day in the history of democracy in Albania."

"Dear citizens! Today is March 22, the day of Sultan Nevruz. On this occasion, I sincerely congratulate all Albanian Bektashis on this day. I express my deepest gratitude and respect for their extraordinary role in our national history.

But today, March 22, is another great day in the history of democracy in Albania, it is the day on which 34 years ago, Albanians separated from the communist dictatorship with their free vote.

Today, after 34 years, Albania changes like night and day, compared to the Albania of 34 years ago, but again today we honor March 22, 1992, under conditions of an authoritarian dictatorship, or electoral autocracy.

In conditions of rape, of the transformation of the vote, of the elections into an electoral farce, in conditions of close cooperation of the government at all levels with the drug cartels and finally in conditions of legal packages and the use of criminal mandates, to block the fight against corruption, to protect corruption, the theft of Albanian citizens by Edi Rama and his criminal organization.

Therefore, the most dignified way to honor the 34th anniversary of March 22 today is for us all to take to the streets, to stand up strongly to oppose this regime, to demand the immediate removal of Edi Rama from power.

To prove to Edi Rama and the world that we never agree with electoral farces.

We never agree with the use of criminal mandates and the laws of the country to protect the country's thieving governors and the country's thieving prime minister.

"Today, let us transform this day into the greatest peaceful uprising that Albania has known, once again into a day of great hope for Albanians, for their European future," said Berisha.
