Trump threatened Tehran over the Strait of Hormuz, Iran sets 6 conditions to end the war with the US and Israel
President Donald Trump threatened on Saturday to "strike and destroy" Iranian power plants if Tehran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.
"If Iran does not FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will strike and destroy their POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST!" Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
Following these threats, Iran has presented six conditions to end tensions with the United States and Israel.
While Trump has laid out a plan for the possibility of negotiations and "ending" the war, Iran has made it clear that any agreement will depend on meeting their specific conditions.
According to the official, Tehran has set six main demands: guarantees to prevent future conflicts, the closure of US military bases in the region, compensation for damages, an end to wars on multiple fronts, a new legal framework governing the Strait of Hormuz, and legal action against media figures it considers hostile.
Iranian officials say the current phase of the conflict reflects both military force and a broader strategy aimed at reshaping the regional balance, while insisting that any path to de-escalation must meet their stated conditions.
On the other hand, the US is also demanding a series of commitments from Iran, including: A five-year suspension of its ballistic missile program; Zero uranium enrichment; Dismantling of nuclear facilities in Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow; Strict international oversight of nuclear technology; Regional arms control agreements with neighboring countries; Ban on financing groups such as Hezbollah, the Houthis and Hamas.
