German Chancellor urges Albin Kurti to make further progress in dialogue with Serbia, Merz: Challenging tasks lie ahead

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has asked Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti for further progress in the dialogue with Serbia, in a congratulatory letter he sent on the occasion of his new governing mandate.
Merz, in the congratulatory letter published by the Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, writes that Kurti "stands before him challenging tasks."
"Challenging tasks lie ahead of you and your government. I am convinced that, with your experience, you will take the right and necessary decisions for the further Euro-Atlantic integration of Kosovo. This also includes further progress in the EU-mediated normalization dialogue with Serbia," the German Chancellor wrote.
Among other things, Merz says that in these tasks, Kosovo has a strong and reliable partner like Germany at its side, wishing it luck and success in its new governing mandate.
I heartily congratulate you on your re-election. I look forward to the opportunity to further deepen the close and friendly relations between our countries, together with you.
Challenging tasks lie ahead for you and your government. I am confident that, with your experience, you will make the right and necessary decisions for Kosovo's further Euro-Atlantic integration. This includes further progress in the EU-facilitated normalization dialogue with Serbia.
