Chicken fillets with salmonella/ Journalist: The product was not cleared in Durrës, it went through transit

Journalist Granit Sokolaj, invited to Euronews Albania, spoke about the scandal over the importation into Albania of over 18 tons of chicken fillets with salmonella, which came from Brazil, while the company " AMG FOOD " , or known by its trade name " diMal " , put 13.1 tons on the market.
Sokolaj indicated that the product was not cleared at the port of Durres, but was in transit, to be later cleared at Tirana customs. He added that their distribution could have been throughout Albania.
"The company in question is one of the largest importers of frozen meat from abroad and its warehouses are in Tirana, on the highway between Kashari and Tirana. The product was not cleared through customs in Durrës. In order not to pass through Durrës, it was transited to be cleared through customs in Tirana."
"Then what the AKU in Durrës has not done is that they have not opened the container, they have opened the company's refrigerated warehouses. The distribution part can be throughout Albania because the large companies have agreements with the largest supermarket chains in the country," said Granit Sokolaj.
