A serious incident was discovered this afternoon in Greece, where a 58-year-old man and his 55-year-old wife were found dead inside their apartment.
According to Greek media, the couple had been reported missing for several days after their children, who live in Germany, had not been able to contact them since Monday. Worried, they notified Greek authorities, who immediately launched a search.
Neighbors had also noticed the couple missing since the beginning of the week and reported the case to the police. When officers arrived at the scene, the bodies were found through the apartment window, while the door was locked from the inside.
According to preliminary data, it is suspected that the cause of death was a gas leak, which may have led to carbon monoxide poisoning.
The couple had recently returned from Germany to permanently settle in Greece and were carrying out work on their apartment.
