Italian police arrested a 30-year-old Albanian in Albano Laziale, after a chase of his vehicle and a scene like in action movies.
But the 3 passengers who were inside the vehicle (they are suspected to be Albanians), were able to escape on foot, after the chaos created in the area of the event.
After the stop and search, tools used to commit robberies and suspicious equipment were found in the car and seized as material evidence.
It is suspected that the Albanian is part of a gang of hawks that operated in Castelli Romani. After spotting the carabinieri patrol, the young man tried to evade control. He increased the speed and tried to escape, but the patrols blocked him in pursuit.
The incident happened in the late hours of January 5, as there were at least 4 suspects on board. The speed of the driver also endangered the patrol officers and other drivers who were driving at that time. According to the media of the neighboring country, the three passengers were able to escape on foot, but not the 30-year-old driver.
Among the items seized were electric scissors, a whip, a telescopic ladder, several two-way radios, three hats, screwdrivers and crowbars. The arrested person was not able to provide reliable explanations regarding the presence of these instruments in his luggage, fueling the suspicions of the investigators.
The Albanian is also accused of resisting and opposing the police.
