"I am an employee of IKMT, AKU, and..."/ He defrauded 35 businesses, the 26-year-old was arrested in Saranda, he benefited from 600 euros for each case

As a result of an investigation conducted using proactive methods, in coordination with the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office, to document the criminal activity of a citizen who defrauded businesses and commercial entities by posing as an employee of IKMT, AKU, Taxes, etc., specialists from the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Operational Sector of the Gjirokastra DVP and the Saranda Police Commissariat, finalized the operation codenamed "The End".

During this operation, citizen LM, 26 years old, resident of Saranda, was caught red-handed in the city of Saranda, fraudulently receiving an amount of 56,000 new lek from a citizen, and was arrested.

From the investigations conducted, it has been documented that citizen LM has defrauded, with the aim of embezzling sums of money, 35 businesses and commercial entities in various cities such as Gjirokastër, Tepelena, Përmet, Vlorë, Himara, Orikum, Fier, Berat, etc., where in each case he benefited from amounts ranging from 200 to 600 euros.

The investigation continues with the aim of legally documenting this activity.

The Gjirokastra Local Police Directorate thanks the leaders of the IKMT and the citizens for their cooperation and denunciation of this case of fraud, which led to the documentation of all cases and the arrest in flagrante delicto of this citizen, and encourages citizens to continue denouncing any case of illegality, with the guarantee of a quick, impartial and legal response.

The procedural materials were referred to the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office for further action.
