He had married a few days before and had gone to Italy from Albania on Saturday together with his sister to celebrate the birthday of their cousin with whom she was very close, confirming how important it was for him that to maintain close ties with relatives and family, despite the distance: unfortunately he died on the way. This is the tragic fate of Dorjo Duka, a 30-year-old Albanian resident of Tirana, who died on the night of Sunday, January 21, after a terrible head-on collision that occurred in Ponte Meduna, in the Pordenone area.
The accident happened after the collision between a Fiat Grande Punto he was driving and a Mercedes CLA. The only consolation in the drama that his loved ones and the Albanian community of the area are experiencing is the fact that the 25-year-old cousin who was in the car with him managed to survive.
After the incident, he was transported in a serious condition to the Pordenone hospital, but it seems that his condition is improving now. The Prosecutor of the Public Prosecution of Pordenone, Federico Baldo, who as usual opened the criminal proceedings for the suspected criminal offense of road homicide (aggravated by the very serious injuries caused to the passenger of the Punto), which included the driver of the Mercedes, a 45-year-old man from Codognè, in the area of Treviso, did not consider it necessary to carry out an autopsy on the victim's body, since it was clear that the death was only due to the very severe traumas reported in the accident.
Therefore, in the following hours, the Public Prosecutor's Office will issue the authorization for the burial and thus the family will be able to repatriate the body of their loved one to Tirana, where the burial will take place.
The Duke, a cheerful, always available young man who worked for a construction company and, as mentioned, was very close to his family, left his wife Iris, whom he married on 12 January 2024 after about 6 years of knowing him.
Dorjo was the cousin of the well-known moderator Kiara Tito, who yesterday gave a touching reaction to him. "A news that shocked all of us as a family. One of the people with the best soul, but you were so good that God wanted you for himself. Rest in peace my dear," Kiara wrote yesterday.
