Blendi Gonxhja, the head of DPSHTRR, in an interview for "Our Day" on A2 CNN, stated that our country is lobbying for a Formula 1 race in 2028, on the track of Elbasan.
"Elbasan has work, it is a big construction site, 700 thousand square meters of construction site. We are working to catch the standards and we will lobby for Formula 1 in the fall of 2028", said Gonxhja.
"4.4 km is the track of Elbasan, which will have all the standards, with the "paddock", with the retro museum and with the capacities that will handle up to 90 thousand viewers in one day, which means 270 thousand for three days", Gonxhja added.
According to him, the main work being done is for the track to meet all the very high standards of an F1 race.
"We are working to meet these standards, and in order to apply for the competition, we must have the auto moto park built by 2027, and we are working on the access roads, which are the connecting roads or the river crossings. All of them are big investments that completely transform the area there", Gonxhja emphasized further.
