Elbasan police have announced a search for Oklid El Ouejdi, 35 years old, also from Elbasan, in connection with the murder of businessman Mondi Mëhalla, on the evening of November 30.
Sources for Report TV journalist Sokol Dema indicate that his name was mentioned by Naldi Gjini, the first person to be questioned in connection with the incident, who told investigators that together with Armando Kolën, Nevzat Spaho and Marselo Aranin, they were part of the group that took the car that was used in the crime. Up to this stage of the investigation, the prosecution is investigating a possible conflict between him and Mahallën shortly before the incident.
From the checks that have been carried out so far, it does not appear that he is inside the country, and may have left the country through illegal routes. The police and the prosecution are still unclear about the shooter who killed Mehalla, while the main suspicions fall on Nevzat Spaho.
According to sources, his BMW was traced to have driven near the scene where the crime car was burned. Although Spaho denies involvement, evidence from the car implicates him in the incident, but it is still unclear whether he drove the aggressor away from the scene, or was one himself.
