The unveiling ceremony of the statue of our national hero Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu was held today in Gjakova.

The camp was placed in the park square of the city of Gjakova, as it coincides with the 25th anniversary of the liberation of this city. It was made by the sculptor Tal Istrefi.

The mayor of Gjakova municipality, politicians and many citizens participated in the ceremony. Also present at the unveiling ceremony of the monument to the national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti-Skënderbeu, was the chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj. He said that Skënderbeu is an inspiration for every Albanian.

"The symbol of Albanian unity and our permanent connection with the West, Gjergj Kastrioti-Skënderbeu, the General who is an inspiration to every Albanian and whose legacy inspired our efforts for freedom throughout the centuries, from today will be a heroic guard for Gjakova" writes Haradinaj.

Furthermore, he thanked the mayor of Gjakova, Ardian Gjin and the donor Gjergj Prenkoçaj for the patriotic work, which he called indispensable.

Also, today the bust of the Albanian national hero, Gjergj Kastriot-Skënderbeu, was also discovered in the city of Eger, Hungary.

The bust has been placed in the 'Skënderbeu' square in Eger, Hungary, in which case a ceremony was held organized by the Honorary Consul of Albania, the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Budapest and the Municipality of Eger.

The bust was financed by the Albanian activity, Avni Hafuzi, once the Honorary Consul of Albania in Hungary, who lives and works in Budapest, Hungary.
