Artan Lame was an Albanian public figure with a long career in state administration, known for his commitment in the fields of legalization, cadastre and cultural heritage.

Lame was born in Tirana in 1967. He is known as a publicist, opinion leader and collector, with a particular passion for military uniforms and Albanian history. In 2013, after the Socialist Party came to power, Lame was appointed head of the Legalization Agency (ALUIZNI). In 2017, he was appointed chairman of the Mortgage Steering Board, representing Prime Minister Edi Rama. In 2019, with the creation of the State Cadastre Agency (ASHK), which merged ALUIZNI and Hipoteka, Lame took over the leadership of this new institution. He remained in this position until March 2023, when he resigned and was replaced by Dallëndyshe Bici.

Controversies and Accusations
During his tenure at ALUIZNI and ASHK, Lame has faced accusations of corruption and abuse of office. Media reports have raised suspicions about his involvement in illegal legalizations and property alienations, including a case where he is suspected of having legalized an unauthorized construction in Qerret, owned by him, being in a conflict of interest.

The Democratic Party has accused Lame of using the administration for electoral purposes and making appointments based on party affiliation. In 2019, a wiretap was released in which Lame is heard discussing dismissals and appointments in the administration based on party lists.

Personal Life and Passions
In addition to his career in administration, Lame is known for his passion for military uniforms. He has collected hundreds of uniforms and thousands of military-themed photographs, contributing to the design of uniforms for the Albanian police and army.

In 2016, Lame underwent difficult heart surgery, after which he successfully recovered.

He passed away today after a similar operation in Munich, Germany. He died after coming out of a coma.
