Proda: We will create the Police Academy for the Western Balkans in Tirana

Today, at the Security Academy, the Deputy Director of the ICITAP Program of the US Department of Justice, Mr. Steven Fields, presented the General Director of the State Police, Major General Ilir Proda, and the Rector of the Academy, Prof. Ilirjan Mando, with the certificate of accreditation of the Professional College of Police Training by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training - IADLEST. This moment marks a major achievement for police education in our country and for the State Police as a whole.
During the conversation in the Rector's office, with representatives of American law enforcement agencies and the US Embassy in Tirana, Director Proda informed them that the Police Academy for the Western Balkans will soon be established in Tirana, finalizing the idea of the Secretary General of Interpol, Mr. Jurgen Stock.
He assured the representatives of American law enforcement agencies and the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy that the State Police is very determined to continue the joint investigative and operational work that is currently underway, but also in the future, with strategic and Euro-Atlantic partners, as well as with all law enforcement agencies at home and abroad, to finalize operations with impact against organized crime and terrorism.
