276 boxes of milk contaminated with bacteria causing serious problems for babies were distributed in Albania

The National Food Authority has announced the withdrawal from the market of the infant formula milk, "APTAMIL 1 PRONUTRA 800 grams Advanced" following an alert from the European Food Safety System, RASFF.

During official controls carried out in Germany, the presence of the substance "cereulide", a toxin that can cause food poisoning, with symptoms such as vomiting and abdominal pain, has been found, particularly dangerous for infants. This product is used for infants from 0 to 2 years old

The contaminated product APTAMIL 1 PRONUTRA 800 grams with an expiration date of November 10, 2026 should not be used by infants because it causes serious health problems. The alarm of formula milk with bacteria was first given in European countries and then reached our country. The Food Business Operator that imported this milk is again Rossman Lala, a total of 648 units of this product have been imported into Albania. Where 276 boxes have been distributed in Albania, for which the withdrawal from the market is being carried out, while 372 have been exported to Kosovo.

"We have been notified by the European system about a formula milk product Aptamil Advance Pronura 800gr with an expiration date of 10-12-2026. The product in question was imported by Rossman Lala and distributed in the chain network: Durrës, Tirana, Fier, Shkodër and our inspectors have been engaged in the field to withdraw it from the market with the aim of destroying it." - AKU . 

APTAMIL is the best-selling formula milk on the market. The bacteria ballicesu-cerus does not appear for the first time in formula milk; previously, this bacteria was also found in Nestle products, which were sold in Rossman Lala stores.
