Plane crashes in North Macedonia, two Albanians injured

Two Kosovo Albanians were injured after the small sports plane they were flying crashed into Lake Mavrovo on December 12.
The Internal Affairs Sector in Tetovo said that Kosovo citizens Xh.P. (41 years old) and DM (64 years old) have been taken to Gostivar Hospital for medical treatment.
The small plane, according to this institution, crashed into Lake Mavrovo, near the Belic Canal dam, at 12:35.
"According to the report, two Kosovar citizens, XH.P. and DM, who was driving the aircraft, managed to get out of the plane on the ground. They suffered injuries and were transported to the Gostivar Medical Center to receive medical assistance," said this sector.
DM, according to the MIA sector, told police officers who arrived at the scene that the plane he was piloting had an engine problem and he then landed in the lake.
The Crisis Management Center in North Macedonia announced that after receiving information about the plane crash, emergency services, the regional crisis management center for rapid intervention, and the Internal Affairs Sector in Tetovo immediately arrived at the scene.
According to North Macedonian media, the Piper aircraft can carry up to four people. The plane that crashed had previously flown in North Macedonian airspace and had also participated in aviation events, such as an air show organized in Skopje in 2023./ REL
