The Guardian: Tirana, the capital behind the "iron curtain" that has a lot to discover

The British media " The Guardian" has dedicated an article to Albania, as one of the cultural destinations to discover behind the "iron curtain" of communism. In the writing of the journalist Rachel Mills, his journey from London to Tirana is described, through the medieval streets of Chambéry, Bar and Tirana, the dynamic capital of Albania.
" My main memories, moving through the countries by train, during a journey from London to Albania, are of the villages under the glow of the sunset. I remember the cypress trees, the red-roofed villages with the square churches, the farmland in neat strips and rows upon rows of vineyards.
People seemed surprised when I told them I was traveling from London to Albania, a trip that lasted 4 days. I arrive in Albania by ferry from Italy to the Port of Durrës and from there to the capital Tirana.
Tirana itself is a place to discover. Take a walk to the historic Pyramid of Tirana, which stands as a symbol and monument of change. Behind it, Skanderbeg Square is an excellent public space for pedestrians. Albania's history behind the 'iron curtain' is revealed in the museums Bunk'Art 1 and Bunk'Art 2, the unforgettable nuclear bunkers" , writes The Guardian.
