Three people under investigation for the pollution of the river Gjanica in Fier

Three people were put under investigation in Fier, after being accused of polluting the waters of the Gjanica river, by discharging hydrocarbon residues into it.
In a press release, the police say that "after the notification of pollution of the Gjanica River, from the discharge of hydrocarbon waste, the specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of DVP Fier, in cooperation with those of the Regional Environmental Agency Fier- Vlorë-Gjirokastër, have carried out all the necessary investigative and procedural actions to determine the criminal responsibility for the pollution. At the end of these actions, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings began in a free state for the citizens: KA, 34 years old, with the duties of director of the Oil Production Center, Fier, and SA, 35 years old, with the duties of the head of the Decanting Sector , Patos, in a private company Sh. A.; EB, 61 years old, as director of hydrocarbon operations, in another private company, also Sh. A".
According to the police, the investigations show that the 2 private companies where these 3 persons are responsible employees, through their activities in the field of hydrocarbons, have polluted the waters of the Gjanica river, after they have discharged the waste of these materials there.
