56-year-old Albanian man dies after being crushed by a construction truck at work

A tragic accident occurred at the workplace in the municipality of Vernio near Prato in Italy.

 It is learned that a 56-year-old worker of Albanian origin lost his life after being crushed by a construction truck in the via del Bisenzio area, in the village of Mercatale.

The victim was reportedly working on unloading construction materials from the vehicle, which had stopped on a slope.

Due to loss of traction on the asphalt, the truck suddenly swerved and hit the man, killing him instantly. The vehicle then ended up in a ditch on the side of the road.

The incident occurred around 11:00 am.

The worker was employed by a company that carried out activities on behalf of the State Railways.

A 118 emergency ambulance immediately arrived at the scene, but doctors could do nothing other than confirm death.

Meanwhile, the intervention was also carried out by firefighters, carabinieri, municipal police and inspectors from the ASL Centro Prevention Department.
