Bomb alert on plane with 181 passengers on board, Warsaw airport closed

An alarm was raised in Poland on Tuesday morning when a plane flying from London with 181 people on board was forced to make an emergency landing after a bomb threat.

The plane diverted to Warsaw-Modlin Airport, about 40 kilometers north of the center of the Polish capital. The airport was closed until further notice so that security services could carry out the necessary checks.

According to a statement from the airport management, the unscheduled landing was made following information about the presence of an explosive device on the plane.

" The plane landed safely and security services are checking the reported threat ," the statement said.
