Russian aggression, the Netherlands promises Ukraine new military aid
The Netherlands will offer Ukraine another 1 billion euros in military aid this year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on April 12.

The additional aid brings the total amount of aid this year to 3 billion euros, acting Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Netherlands, which has been one of the main donors of military aid to Ukraine since Russia launched its invasion of the neighboring country in 2022, has also decided next year to provide an additional 3 billion euros in military aid and 400 million euros in economic aid, intended for repair the energy infrastructure in Ukraine.

Rutte said the Netherlands will continue to work with international partners to send more ammunition and air defense equipment to Ukraine as soon as possible, adding that Amsterdam is working closely with Denmark and the Czech Republic in this regard.

"Ukraine must win this war. For the sake of their safety and ours," he said.

Rutte said he spoke by phone with Zelensky about the new aid and promised to work on speeding up arms and ammunition supplies.

Zelensky, through a post on Telegram, thanked the Netherlands for the support of his country. /REL
