Another tragedy in the Mediterranean waters! Dozens of migrants lose their lives after boat capsizes in Italy and Turkey

The bodies of 19 migrants were recovered from a boat off the coast of Lampedusa on Wednesday by the Italian coast guard, the island's mayor said.
Mayor Filippo Mannino said seven other migrants, including two children, were being treated for "hypothermia and hydrocarbon smoke intoxication."
The rescue operation took place in the early hours of Wednesday, 135 kilometers off the Italian island, within Libya's search and rescue zone, ANSA reported.
"It is believed that all died from hypothermia," the agency wrote, which cited strong winds, rain and low temperatures in the area.
Lampedusa is a key landing point for migrants crossing the Mediterranean Sea from North Africa, many of whom die attempting the dangerous journey.
Meanwhile, a speedboat carrying Afghan migrants capsized in the Aegean Sea on Wednesday while trying to evade the coast guard in rough waters, leaving 19 dead, including an infant, officials said.
The Turkish Coast Guard Command said the boat carrying dozens of migrants ignored repeated warnings to stop and tried to flee at high speed.
The boat began to take on water in the rough seas and eventually capsized. At least 20 other migrants were rescued.
The sinking occurred near the coastal town of Bodrum, a popular tourist destination in Turkey.
All the migrants were from Afghanistan and a baby was among the victims, according to Idris Akbıyık, the governor of Muğla province where Bodrum is located, as quoted by the state-run Anadolu agency.
