"We had oil with manipulable ink"/ Rama: We will establish a

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting today (April 1) with members of the SP structures and supporters at Unit No. 4 in Tirana, where he spoke about various topics from the current political and economic-social situation.

He also touched on the fuel crisis, explaining that the war in Iran has increased prices rapidly and significantly, beyond the control of the government, but added that a state-owned company has now been established with the United Arab Emirates to mark all fuel and track it, so that it is no longer smuggled.

"Today we have a problem with oil that has been hit in price by the crisis, but which is a problem even beyond the crisis, to be honest with each other. That crisis caused there in the Strait of Hormuz and all that is happening has increased the price everywhere, has taken it to the stratosphere, especially in some countries, I saw some friends from Germany taking me, horror, but now, meanwhile this finds us at the time when we had started, in fact we have and I said in my first speech in the assembly, after we won, that we will enter the oil market with a public factor, with a state factor, with a public company and why will we enter the oil market with a public company at that time, because there was no war at that time, so it had nothing to do with the war. We will enter to guarantee that citizens, our fuel consumers, are not forced to pay more than they are entitled to and to ensure that the reserves, and therefore this is a coincidence, because the law on the strategic reserve that the state must maintain, the new law is in the consultation process, so it has moved forward," said the head of the executive.

And he further explained how fuel labeling was manipulated:

"We had an oil that was colored, branded as it is called, that had a chemical component placed on it to identify the oil that was entering legally and not smuggled. It was an inherited concession. We tried to fix it as much as we could, but it was paint that was easily diluted or easily fabricated."

The majority leader said that part of the oil is outside the state's radar and is smuggled, causing economic damage, while distributors earn more than they should. According to him, this law and the new company will regulate not only the market, but also the price so that it is not abusive.

"Now, with the public company that we have created, we have created another public company that is a company, we have created it together with the same company that the state has in the United Arab Emirates, we will issue in a matter of 1-2 months, because it is in those final stages, we will issue another colorant that is unmanipulated and this will help a lot to formalize the oil market until the end, because from all the analyzes that we do, there is a quantity of oil that is outside the radar of the state. The other thing that happens with oil is the so-called transit oil that enters Albania to go to the countries that are on the land borders with Albania and that then a part of it remains in Albania, illegally. For this too, we have a product with the same company that is a company of the Albanian state, where the Albanian state has the majority of shares and our friends from the Emirates have the rest of the shares to track all the transit oil, which until now has been tracked by cars. These will have their positive impact. We are convinced of this and we want "The public company should reach the point of being a supplier in the market and, being a supplier in the market, determine the rules of the game, imposing not an arbitrary price set by the government, but a price that is a real price based on the stock exchange and definitely gives distributors the opportunity to earn, but not to over-earn," he continued.

As for the integration process, Rama said that Albania deserved the rapid opening of negotiations through the opening of all group chapters in record time, unlike other countries.

"Look, we have today, I always find it annoying to talk about records, to talk about us so-and-so, so-and-so and so-and-so, that is, these are measurements of the moment, but it is true that compared to all the countries that have carried out the negotiation process from the beginning to this stage of the process, we have the record of opening all chapters in terms of speed. Of course, some things have matched, the willingness of the other side, that is, the European Union, to recognize our merit and to give us the grade we deserve based on our homework, has also matched," he said.
