Israel-Lebanon ceasefire agreement reached, Trump: Parties will stop fighting for 10 days

US President Donald Trump has said that Lebanon and Israel have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Benjamin Netanyahu reached the agreement after speaking with the US president, Trump posted on Truth Social.

The ceasefire will take effect at 5:00 p.m. Eastern US time.

US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will now work with both countries "to achieve a LASTING PEACE," Trump said.

Trump then repeated his oft-used phrase that he has resolved nine wars and that "this will be my 10th."
